About FECO
Diversity and Equality:
It is the mission of our organization to create a sense of worth and value for each individual that we serve. We are not just providing food and clothing to our community, we are providing our neighbors with an opportunity to find hope, receive encouragement, and encounter God through our compassion. Although everyone is welcome to participate in our programs, we specifically conduct our mobile outreach in lower-income neighborhoods to direct our food and clothing distributions to people with higher needs. In times where we have an overabundance of clothing donations, we direct excess donations to BIPOC organizations to share our resources with their communities.
Target Population:
Our organization provides an inclusive experience where everyone is welcome to participate regardless of their status. We have directly impacted several populations of need within the St. Croix Valley neighborhoods of Hudson, Roberts, and Houlton. Our mobile outreach has served people with disabilities, low-income, seniors, immigrants, refugees, and those experiencing homelessness and living out of a car or tent. Our mobile outreach allows us to drive to specific communities of need to provide people with services, along with hope and dignity.
FECO Goals
Achieving the goal of removing food insecurity within Hudson and surrounding communities:
Fresh Express Community Outreach has a primary goal to remove food insecurity within Hudson and its surrounding communities. Our organization redistributes food in several venues and we provide this service for FREE to anyone in the community, and we provide people with dignity. Our food distribution program services include the following:
-
Mobile Food Market that goes to the neighborhoods in need on a regular schedule;
-
Daily Mini-Market (Sunday-Thursday 9-11am) held at Cornerstone Church, Hudson;
-
Weekly Robust Friday food market (9-11am) held at Cornerstone Church, Hudson; and
-
Pop-up food markets as abundance of rescue food are made available for redistribution.
Achieving the goal of removing clothing insecurity within Hudson and surrounding communities:
Fresh Express Community Outreach also has a goal to remove clothing insecurity within Hudson and its surrounding communities. Our organization operates a refurbished city bus as a mobile clothing boutique, Fresh Threads Express, that offers clothing in locations of need. Our clothing program services include the following:
-
Clothing for men, women, and children
-
Clothing offered for a suggested donation of $1/item; and
-
“Bus bucks” promotion to enable those in need of clothing to shop for free.
Our clothing program provides an additional opportunity to support our food distribution as all sales from clothing go directly to help pay for food in our food program.
